Biography
Mbedi a Mbongo is Notable.
In local folk history, Mbedi is the shared ancestor of numerous Sawa-speaking coastal ethnic groups from modern-day Cameroon. While his father, Mbongo, is considered to be a mythical figure or symbol, at the head of most Sawa genealogies, scholars have suggested that the existence of Mbedi is quite plausible due to a lack of overt mythological elements to stories about him. Given proposed documentation of his grandson Mulobe of the Duala, Mbedi's life has been estimated at the latter half of the 16th Century.[1][2][3]
